A trip to Huber's Orchard and Winery!

I was kind of disappointed that we only had a one day "fall break". I was even more disappointed that they were calling for rain. I wanted to take Matt to Huber's and this was on the only day that would work.

God is good. It was very windy, but the rain held off!

We were even in the pumpkin patch all by ourselves....just me and my little pumpkin!

Here is Matthew and the pumpkin that we picked.

On the ride back to the winery, the driver drove us right behind the place were Taylor and I were married. I have to admit...I teared up sharing with Matthew the place where his mommy and daddy were married. I think that the driver thought I was a little crazy. Who cries on a hay ride?

I want to just say THANK YOU to all of the men and women that serve our country. That includes the military, firefighters and police.

There are a few events that have happened in my life that I can tell you....I remember where I was when...Today is one of those days.

8 years ago today I was teaching sixth grade. As we got word of what was going on in New York, we were told that we needed to keep going on with the day. We had students whose parents where pilots and we didn't want to alarm them. It is so difficult being a teacher sometimes. This was one of those days. I remember the end of the day going into a teacher's room and several of us just crying together...not know what exactly had happened, but knowing that things would never be the same.

I sit here tonight watching a show about the World Trade Centers on 911. All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE!

It is so hard to believe that 8 years have past...still we REMEMBER!

Completely unrelated...Matthew went to his first football game tonight. We went to the CAL high school game. He really seemed to enjoy it. He fell asleep before we got home. He will be 1 in two weeks! TWO WEEKS from today!

11 Months Old!

Counting down to ONE YEAR!

Last Day of Summer

We went to the doctor last week for Matt's 9 month check-up...even though he is was 2 days past 10 months. Here are his current stats:

Length: 29 1/4" - 60%
Weight: 23lb 7oz - 80%
Head: 19.1" - 97%! - The doctor even measured it again to make sure :)

It is so hard to believe that today is the last day of summer. I go back to work tomorrow and Matt will start spending his week days with Mrs. Debbie. I am so thankful that he gets to stay with her. It makes going back to work a little bit easier....just a little bit.

I had so many things that I wanted to get done this summer. I wanted to get the house back in order....boxes unpacked. I got some things done, but I have decided that I did do what was most important...I spent the summer with Matt!

I have heard people say that children grow up so fast. That is so true. In a matter of weeks, Matt has gotten his first two teeth, said his first word and taken his first steps.

Life is full of different seasons...and we are ready for the next season to begin!
